AlamKulKul is currently celebrating its 19th year of operations and in many ways the property has been somewhat of a pioneer in the island’s ever changing tourism industry. As the first boutique hotel in the Kuta area, we established new standards in Balinese hospitality and endeavoured to implement practices such as adhering to traditional design principles and respecting the local environment. We also realised the early potential of personal wellness and opened one of Bali’s first spa facilities dedicated to body, mind and spirit indulgence.

After 19 years AlamKulKul is still continuing to evolve as a brand that is focused on guest satisfaction. However, the real key to the resort’s success is our dynamic team of staff and their dedication. We function as a close knit family unit and this sense of belonging is experienced by all in-house guests.

This year’s anniversary is dedicated entirely to the staff, their efforts and relentless commitment. Therefore, all celebration activities have been chosen to compensate our team for all the long hours that they have spent serving others. We will have a number of fun sporting events, a Balinese dance competition and of course an after hours party with food and merriment. The festivities will culminate in a Hindu blessing ceremony performed by a Hindu priest to pray for peace and future prosperity.

Special greetings from the entire team at AlamKulKul Boutique Resort on the paradise isle of Bali. The Kul Kul Beat is our very own online newsletter created to keep guests and travel colleagues abreast with all the news and promotional incentives from the resort. As we prepare to enter the summer season I am delighted to present our latest edition for your reading pleasure.

It is certainly a busy time for us here at AlamKulKul as we are gearing up to celebrate our 19th anniversary. This is indeed a milestone in Bali’s evolving tourism industry, especially as we have faced so many different challenges in recent years. However, our brand remains strong and we are still committed to providing travellers with warm hospitality and impeccable service for the duration of each and every stay.

As we enter an era of heightened social awareness, the management of AlamKulKul has decided to adopt a low key approach to anniversary celebrations this year and focus on the efforts of our loyal staff members. A number of family orientated activities have been organised along with a blessing ceremony performed by a Hindu priest.

The coming three months are acknowledged as Bali’s peak season and July through until September is the perfect opportunity to visit the island.
Pleasant weather conditions extend to warm sun-filled days, clear skies and cool evening breezes. The pleasure playground of Kuta becomes a melting pot for international visitors and the overall vibe is one of excitement.

Indonesia is set to celebrate its 63rd year of independence on 17th August 2008. This struggle was finally achieved following more than 300 years of Dutch colonial rule. Marked as a public holiday, this occasion is a great source of national pride and community spirit. Red and white Indonesian flags are used to decorate the streets and fun games, activities and other festivities will take place.

On a cultural note, there will also be a number of significant holidays taking place on Bali’s religious calendar. Galungan Day will occur on 20th August, which is a festive occasion where local Hindus return to their ancestral villages to pray and feast on traditional delicacies. It is a fascinating insight as to how daily life in Bali revolves around an endless cycle of symbolic rituals and ceremonial rites
